Modern state of the art vehicles are increasingly assisting drivers with sophisticated safety features in order to master even the most difficult driving condition. During extensive driving tests it was noted, however, that the electronic assistants may have negative effects on the clamping forces of the wheel fasteners. According to some of the OEMs, the preset torque of the wheel lugware can only be stabilized by a 2pc bolt construction. Even though not all OEMs have released 2pc wheel bolts as yet, RAD nevertheless recognizes a certain trend towards increased safety and will follow suit. RAD's 2pc development consists of a system which incorporates the most common thread pitches M12 and M14 with separate seats of 60° taper (cone), R12, R13 and R14 ball. The basic bolt is a flat seat fastener with a provision below the flat seat to accommodate ball or tapered washers which will be pressed in so that it will remain captive. RAD is currently expanding this range. The fasteners are, like all RAD fasteners and wheel locks, corrosion protected by either Dacromet 500A or Geomet 321+VL. Please contact us if you are looking for a perfect technical fitment with a separate washer which cannot be lost! RAD uses only top quality steel from certified steel mills for all lug bolts, lug nut and wheel locks. All lug bolts, lug nuts and wheel locks are COLD FORGED and are tempered to strength class 10.9 or 10. NOTHING is machined! Every single fastener is tested and logged on a PACE test machine to ensure compliance with specifications. By doing so, we completely fulfill the zero fault philosophy that we expect and demand. All RAD products are Dacromet coated and applied "according to Daimler Benz standard DBL8440".
